This particular poster, Shades of Achilles, Patroclus, and Hector, captures the tragic heroism of the Trojan War through Twombly's signature scribbles, scrawls, and bursts of color. As a leading figure of post-war American art, Twombly merged classical literature with the immediacy of graffiti, creating a visual language that is both ancient and urgent. This fine art print allows you to experience his enigmatic genius in your own space, bringing the intensity of epic poetry into your everyday surroundings.

Why This Cy Twombly Poster Belongs in Your Collection

Whether you are a seasoned collector of contemporary art or a lover of classical mythology, this museum-quality reproduction offers an accessible entry point into Twombly's oeuvre. In Fifty Days at Iliam, he drew inspiration from Alexander Pope's translation of the Iliad, inscribing names like "Achilles" and "Patroclus" directly onto the canvas.
